Simple guide to electric fan heaters Fan heaters raise the temperature of air flowing over an electrically heated element.  The heated air is rapidly distributed through the space to be heated by an electric fan ('forced convection').

 Industrial units are often wall mounted and are generally more powerful than domestic units and are often available for use with three phase (400V) electricity supplies.

Plinth heaters are designed to be installed unobtrusively at floor level in a kitchen.  

 High level fan heaters are designed to be wall mounted and direct the heated air downwards.

 Ceiling heaters are designed to be ceiling mounted, with the unit being either recessed in place of a suspended ceiling panel or surface mounted.
