See Also  Panel Heaters Panel heaters are usually compact in size and wall mounted and can either be used as a simple solution to provide localised heating for short periods in areas such as bedrooms or conservatories, or alternatively to provide whole house heating. Panel heaters are sometimes used in conjuction with electric storage heaters to raise room temperatures when stored heat is unavailable. Panel heaters in this category include an integral thermostat but do not have timers.

Simple guide to electric storage heaters Storage heaters use energy supplied by low cost, off-peak electricity and are cheaper to run than heaters that use day rate electricity. The electricity supply is drawn at night and is used to store energy in heat retaining bricks for use the following day. There is a variety of different models to choose from including products with manual charge control settings, automatic charge control where current room temperature is into account when determining how much heat needs to be stored, combination storage heaters which include a built-in convector heater, and fan assisted storage heaters which utilise a thermostatically controlled fan to release stored heat as required.

Products in this category have standard manual charge control seetings.

Products in this category incorporate an ambient thermostat which optimises the charge to suit room conditions, with less heat being stored in warmer conditions such as in spring or autumn.

Models in this category include a built-in convector heater which can be used when off-peak storage is not being used or to boost room temperatures during cold periods.

Models in this category incorporate a fan and external room thermostat to automatically control the rate of energy release.
